Realms

"Realms" will be conducted by Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra's Guest Resident Conductor Sun Peng, featuring a collaboration with Liu Wenwen, China’s first suona doctorate holder and one of the most sought-after performers today. Together, they will present an auditory feast that transcends cultural and spiritual boundaries.

Composer Li Bochan crafted Centennial Nirvana specifically for the suona, showcasing the instrument’s modern musical possibilities. The orchestra will also perform Zhang Chao’s Seven Colours of Harmony, a vibrant portrayal of China’s ethnic minorities through seven musical hues. The finale, Han Yong’s Three Realms of Tibet, takes the audience on a spiritual journey—from the celestial realm to the human world—with its majestic musical structure, depicting Tibet’s sacred and mystical essence.
