A musical fabric of dots and lines

If the sounds of musical instruments are to be graphically presented, the plucked-strings would be 'dots', and the bowed-strings would be 'lines'. The strings produce 'granular' notes when plucked, and 'linear' strains when bowed. When they are mingled with the wide ranging piano notes, they form a wonderful tapestry in our mind's eye as we listen.
