Chan Lok-tim

Chan Lok-tim was born and raised in Hong Kong. He earned his Bachelor of Music (Honours) degree in Composition and Electronic Music, graduating with First-Class Honours from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA), where he studied under the guidance of Prof. Mak Wai-chu Clarence and Mr. Tang Man-ngai. He is currently pursuing a Master of Music in Composition at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), under the guidance of Prof. Chan Kai-young.


Chan has collaborated with a range of renowned music institutions, ensembles, and artists. His composition Yin Yang was selected by the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra and performed at the 25th Anniversary Music from the Heart concert in 2024. His artistic and academic achievements have been recognized with numerous awards and scholarships, including the Society of APA Merit Awards for Local Students (2024/25 & 2023/24), the Academy Local Scholarship (2022/23 & 2021/22), and the Lions Music Charity Foundation Scholarship (2021/22). In 2024/25, he was also awarded the HKAPA Alumni Association Scholarship and the CASH Composition Scholarship, further affirming his excellence in music and composition.
