Chen Shuaike

Chen Shuaike is currently a doctoral student in composition at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, studying under the guidance of Professor Wendy Lee. In 2023, he earned his master's degree in composition from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, where he studied with Professor Zhao Guang. He has been awarded several accolades, including Third Prize at the 13th Rivers Awards International Composition Competition in 2024, the Silver Award at the Third “Dunhuang Award” Chinese Chamber Music and Solo New Works Exhibition and Evaluation Event in 2024, and second place in the Senior Division of the Rocky Mountain Composition Competition in Canada.


His notable works include the solo dizi piece Wucao Whispers; chamber music pieces such as The Transcendence Realm and Zhuang Yun; orchestral works including Cherry Blossoms and Ding-Ding-Dang Capriccio; and the clarinet concerto Fire Dance. Among these, Ding-Ding-Dang Capriccio received funding from the 2022Wenzhou Cultural Arts Development Fund, and its full score was published byShanghai Music Publishing House in 2023. His compositions have been performed byensembles such as Ensemble L'Itineraire, the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra, the Hong Kong New Music Ensemble, the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, the Suzhou Symphony Orchestra, and the Wenzhou University Symphony Orchestra.
