Dizi player of the Hong Kong Young Chinese Orchestra, Kwok joined the orchestra in 2022. Currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Science in speech and language pathology at the University of Hong Kong, she first encountered the dizi as a child, beginning with Chinese musical classes in her elementary school and gradually developing an interest in Chinese music performance. She is now a pupil of Chan Chi Yuk. In 2020, she received a diploma in dizi performance from the Central Conservatory of Music, and a level 9 qualification in dizi performance from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music.
Kwok has actively participated in local Chinese music events and performed on multiple occasions, including as a member of the Junior Music Programme of The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. As a middle school student, Kwok assumed a leadership role in her school’s Chinese orchestra, and received several honours at the Hong Kong Schools Music Festival and the Hong Kong Youth Music Ensemble Performance. She was invited to perform at the 2018 Hong Kong Flowers Show hosted by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, and represented the Hong Kong Young Chinese Orchestra in performances at the 17th Hong Kong Arts Development Council Awards Ceremony, and the Government House. Kwok has extensive performance experience, which has enriched her personal musical accomplishments.
“There is a long path ahead of me. I will search far and wide.” Undeterred by setbacks, Kwok relishes new challenges and pursuing the things that bring her joy. She firmly believes that learning does not end with books – it requires a spirit and boldness to push yourself further.
