Liu Chang

Liu Chang is currently pursuing a Master’s degree (Class of 2026) in the Departmentof Chinese Traditional Instruments at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. In 2017,Liu ranked first in his specialty in the entrance examination for the Middle SchoolAffiliated to the China Conservatory of Music, where he studied under Mr WangYang. In 2022, he again ranked first in the wind instrument category for admission tothe Shanghai Conservatory of Music and studied under Associate Professor ZhongZhiyue while also receiving guidance from Professor Weng Zhenfa. In 2025, he wasawarded the National Scholarship for Undergraduates, ranking first across the entireconservatory, and in the same year, he was granted direct admission to the Master’sprogram without the standard entrance examination, ranking second in hisdepartment. During his studies, he received honors such as "Outstanding Graduate ofShanghai", "Merit Student", and "Star of Self-Improvement", alongside the First-Class People's Scholarship and the National Encouragement Scholarship. He has alsoreceived numerous accolades, including the Absolute First Prize at the BachInternational Music Competition, First Prize at the Magnolia International MusicFestival, and the Gold Award at the Singapore Nanyang International MusicCompetition.
