Wong Chi Chuen

Wong Chi-chuen was the choir leader, chorus master and tenor solo of Spring Chorus. He is currently the teacher and chrous master of three amateur choruses.

He received his vocal training under the seasoned vocalist, Chou Yun-chen, and conducting under Kwok Hang-kei and Yan Liangkun. He has played an active role in the choral singing field in Hong Kong for more than a decade.

Wong has often been invited to perform solo singing or lead singing items in concerts, such as concerts of the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra and the 1997 Handover Concert. He is also an avid aficionado of opera, having performed comprimario roles in several major opera productions, such as Cloud of Eternal Sorrow, Lucia di Lammermoor, Turandot, Norma, Rigoletto, La Traviata, Aida among many others. In August 2010, he was invited to perform in the original chamber opera production, The Legend of Zhang Baozai, as part of Hong Kong’s participation at World Expo 2010 Shanghai. It was later performed in Shanghai and Hong Kong and won popular acclaim.

His performance has also won the praise of fellow vocalists who shared the stage with him, the conductors, the producers, as well as critical acclaim.
